Imagine her appearance.

Take notes on

how she feels towards her home, her friends at university, her mother, her father, her fiancé.
the two different personae she sees in herself.
the two possible decisions she takes at the end of the story.

Collect expressions from the text describing her emotional state at different steps in the plot.

FATIMA
While reading the short story "A Pair of Jeans" focus on the character of Fatima.

Take notes on

how she feels towards her daughter at different steps in the plot.
what she sees in the family of her daughter's fiancé.
her idea of 'honour'.

Collect expressions from the text describing her reactions towards her daughter Miriam.

AYUB

Take notes on

what he expects a couple to be like.
what he connects to "clothes".
