Here is some language help if you need it:

- You want to say where things are in the picture? Here are some phrases you can use:

in the middle of the picture there is / there are / I can see...
(in der Mitte des Bildes gibt es / kann ich...sehen)
on the left / on the right (links / rechts)
at the top / at the bottom (oben / unten)
in the foreground / in the background (im Vordergrund / Hintergrund)

- You want to say what people are doing in the picture? Can you remember what tense you need? That's right – present progressive . So you say: "He is walk ing ... / They are talk ing ..."

- You want to say how the people in the picture look? Here are some adjectives to help you:

surprised (= überrascht)
shocked (= entsetzt)
afraid (= verängstigt)
mad (= verrückt, wahnsinnig)
angry (= wütend)
annoyed (= verärgert)

(You must use the simple present here: She looks surprised / The man looks angry...)

- And here are some words and phrases to help you:

walking stick = Gehstock
pavement = Bürgersteig
on his back = auf seinem Rücken
a flowery hat = ein Blumenhut
shadow = Schatten
his knees are bent = seine Knie sind gebeugt
beard = Bart
because = weil (the women look surprised because…)
he wants to tell Nancy that... = er will Nancy sagen, dass...
