  1. com­po­se it at the end of term; give the date

  2. write one to two pages

  3. start your text like a real let­ter: “Dear re­a­ders, en­clo­sed you will find …”

  4. talk about your strengths and your weak­nes­ses and how you have de­ve­l­o­ped your skills du­ring the last year

  5. find a con­clu­si­on to fi­nish your let­ter; maybe you refer to what you have lear­ned this year in ge­ne­ral

  6. check struc­tu­re and lan­gua­ge:
    • ideas and ar­gu­ments clear?
    • voaca­bu­la­ry and gram­mar cor­rect?
    • spel­ling cor­rect?
    • lay­out nice and tidy?
